Colors! Turquoise and Red

Shapes! Woven Lines

This collection of images features lines building form, curving and intertwining to create simple, graceful movement.  Clockwise: macramé, braided hair, the solid rock of a canyon, single threads, a tapestry weaving, and a beautiful embroidery by Dora Wheeler depicting Penelope unraveling her weaving.



Repeat! Circular in Blue and Yellow

Here is what we came up with! The simple lines inside the circles dance around  to create a secondary pattern that makes for a very kinetic design.

Colors! Blue and yellow

Blue and yellow- such a classic combo, always in style.  We found this lovely pair everywhere: aerial views from NASA, early Peruvian textiles, and new designs by Oscar de la Renta.

Shapes! Circular

Circles are a great way to start any design, so here we go!  All of these images of circles have something additionally interesting going on: lines building the form of the circle, concentric circles vibrating, or texture on the surface.
