Shapes! Simple Serpents
Simple serpent shapes have been inspiring since the very beginning! Clockwise: a Hopewell mica serpent , an aboriginal snake carved from wood, a creepy and beautiful dress by Iris Van Herpen, and a snake sculpture made from book bags by Ai Weiwei.

Repeat! Folds in Gold
This design captures the dimension of folded paper, with the consistency and repetitions of a surface design. The gold is so pretty and makes this design look super classy! I would love to see this printed in a flowing silk.

Shapes! Folds
I love the simplicity and elegance that folds have. Clockwise: Phil Cuttance’s faceted lamps, Bell Phillip's origami staircase, Louise Campbell's incredible Pantone chip instillation, Alexandra Verschueren's fabulous folded cloak, Dorothea Rockburn's etchings, stills from Fred Butler's Fashion Film, and a beautiful chapel in Switzerland.

Repeat! Skeleton Structures in Blue and Black
Couldn't you imagine this print used on a tailored blouse, paired with a sharp tweed skirt? At first glance it looks like a geometric design from the art deco era-- it isn't until you take a closer look that you notice these organized little skeletons! I had so much fun creating these skeletons from simple geometric shapes!
Color! Black and Blue
This combination looks so professional and preppy for fall and winter! Royal Blue in it's truest form is made even classier when paired with black and white accents. Clockwise: A vintage beauty by Rudi Gernreich, One of my favorite Optical Artist- Edwin Mieczkowski's- Blue and White Ford, a cute suit from Peter Som's 2013 Resort collection, an adorable eastern bluebird, a beautiful home in Portugal, and a dynamic painting by Josh Smith.

Shapes! Skeleton Structures
I love the shapes and patterns inspired by something inside of us all. Each of these images simplifies the complexity of our inner structure in a bold and very graphic way. Clockwise: skeleton dancers from Papua New Guinea, a nice woodblock print, skeleton fashion from Altuzarra's spring collection, and Christopher Wool's ink blot.

Repeat! Beautiful Brushstrokes in Violet and Orange
Interest in this pattern is created by the brushstrokes looking really free and loose, in contrast with the organized rhythms of a repeating design. Layering the violet hues on the pink ground give the shapes form and create movement. The contrast of the violet shapes and the orange outline give the pattern depth.
